Sensi Quintero (End of May – End of August)

My name is Sensi Quintero. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Currently, I’m living between the beautiful city of Merida in the state of Yucatan, Mexico or traveling to any other part of the world, preferably close to the beach or to the mountains, offering Myofascial Deep Tissue Massage and Yoga sessions, Self Healing Coaching, studying ceramics, and enjoying life.

I am a certified practitioner and student of various disciplines of “self-healing” and harmonization of vital energy and emotional release such as Deep Tissue Massage (Biodynamic Myofascial Massage), Yoga, EFT (Tapping), Ayurveda, Meditation and Jin Shin Jyutsu, among others

I’ve been practicing, studying and teaching Yoga for more than 15 years.
I first obtained a certification in Swasthya Yoga with Master DeRose in Buenos Aires and Brazil. Then I continued my studies in India, Buenos Aires and Brazil with Lino Miele and Mathew Vollmer (authorized Ashtanga Yoga Teachers) and later with Bharath Shetti (Yoga Alliance Hatha Yoga Teacher Training) in Mysore, India, among others.

I have lived and spent long periods of time in the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, India and Mexico, organizing and attending yoga, meditation, and other self-healing workshops and retreats.
I’m an illustrator and ceramist. I love creative work and consider Art as one of the main paths to self-realization.
My mission is to accompany you in your Self-Healing process and help you enjoy the health and vitality that you deserve.

My practice is based on the basic principles of Swasthya Yoga,  of holding the physical postures or “asanas” for longer periods of time and employing less repetition, maintaining a choreographic format.

This approach moderates stress to the connective tissues of the body — the tendons, fasciae, and ligaments — with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints, and generating a long lasting flexibility, in a gentle and pleasant way.

In my classes, I teach different techniques such as pranayamas (breathing), mudras (gestures made with the hands), yoganidra (guided deep/conscious relaxation), kriyas (purification techniques) mantra (chanting) and meditation, among others, and incorporate some elements of alignment of practices such as Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Dharma Yoga and Anusara Yoga.

I currently offer private Yoga classes for individuals or groups in private or public spaces, either in person or on-line.

Deep Tissue Biodinamic Myofascial Massage: Biodynamic Myofascial Massage is a combination of Deep Tissue work techniques, Direct and Indirect Myofascial (body’s fascia or connecting tissue) Relaxation, Neuromuscular Integration, and listening to the PRM (primary respiratory movement). They are techniques that are carried out without pain, generating a greater degree of relaxation in the patient and their benefits being more durable.

Deep does not mean strong, painful, or exhausting. It is simply working on deeper muscle layers. The primary objective of these techniques is to release restrictive physical and energetic patterns in the most efficient way possible.

AT THE PHYSICAL LEVEL, relaxing tensions, correcting muscular limitations, releasing myofascial adhesions, and causing structural changes.

AT ENERGETIC LEVEL mobilizing the subtle energies of the body and activating the Qi to release energetic and emotional blockage.
