February has come and without so much as a blink it has past.

We are counting down the days now until we open our doors this summer.

The last few years have been very significant for our whole family. We have all moved across the world, sold our long run family business in Australia & and somehow finding time to travel the world in between. From South America, to India to China & Japan the last two years has seen all of us soar across the globe. It’s almost impossible to believe that here we are, all back together again in our father country working towards everything we have all ever hoped for.

So with all these feelings for family, change and hard work in mind we have put our heads down this month to fight tooth and nail to get things done.

Although with every turn we are finding that things shift and change, the size of our cars, the number of our tent, the size of our plumbing pipes the list goes on, we are endlessly lucky that none of our goal posts have had to shift. We have been able to stand strong and get it done.

Finally this month our photo shoot has happened, we have put together some of our interior rooms at our warehouse in Athens so we can share as much as we can moving forward before our tents are pitched!
Look out for them as they will surely be shared in the coming week.

Through Visas, buying vehicles, licensing we have been up to our ears in paperwork, weaving our way through the Greek bureaucracy system. Luckily for us we have come up for breath and realised that thankfully we haven’t drowned but swam miles!

This month we have been working hard on putting together all our activities, getting our skills up to scratch. We’ve been doing soap making classes learning more in depth interesting and creative ways to make soap and other beauty products. Alexi has been getting his archery skills up to scratch, training and being certified as an archery teacher. Madeleine has been spending every spare moment making mosaics and making a mess in our office, and every evening training to be a certified life saver.

We have made wonderful friends and business and otherwise this month. Helping us connect with local and small business owners who we look forward to working with. Most notably we have managed to find some of the best wines and beers in Greece through these lovely people.

The weather on Kos has gone from rains to sunny days, and our building has gone up in no time. We have had tilers on site doing the interiors of all our bathrooms and kitchen. The roof has gone on, and alas, our building is now water tight, just in time for the sunshine!

The end of february see the departure of all our plants, and tent poles from Athens to Kos, and along with it goes Madeleine and Alexi. They are off to Kos for good this time. Pitching the first tent at Sails on Kos that will from now on be their home.
